Was Judas A Hero?

When we hear the name Judas, we think of a villian, the man who betrayed Jesus and turned Him over to authorities! Now there has been a discovery that potrays Judas as a hero!

The National Geographic Society released this picture of the "Gospel of Judas", an ancient document discovered in the Egyptian desert in 1970. It has been translated into English by a team of scholars. The text is part of a document written in the Coptic language and has been dated to around the year 300. It is a copy of an earlier Greek version.

The document shows Judas as a good friend of Jesus and indicates that he was only doing what he was instructed to do by Jesus. It differs for the accounts in the other Gospels of the Bible and is a subject of great controversy.
